Please join the Dept. of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in congratulating Professor Xiaoning Jiang and Assistant Professor Chih-Hao Chang who were recently named to the 2016 class of University Faculty Scholars. According to the University’s announcement “The 22 recipients represent top early- and mid-career faculty who are pursuing research to solve society’s most pressing problems. University Faculty Scholars carry their title for a five-year period and receive a $10,000 annual award for supplemental salary and benefits, or for programmatic support.” The Department Head, Dr. Gould, stated “I would like to congratulate both Drs. Jiang and Chang on receiving these prestigious awards. These awards reflect the best research we have at NC State and they reflect on the international-level caliber of our faculty in MAE.” Dr. Jiang works in the area of micro/nano engineering making advancements in ultrasound for medical and biological applications, smart micro-nano devices, and ultrasound NDE (non-destructive evaluation). Dr. Chang works in the area of nano-structures and nano-manufacturing making advancements in 3D nano-lithography, self-assembled ferro-fluid lithography, nano-metrology, as well as nano-structure design and system integration.
