Alumnus Receives 2020 PEC Doug Ensor Award

Congratulations to Alumnus Dr. Tyler Hudson who was selected as the recipient of the 2020 PEC Doug Ensor Award. 

Dr. Hudson works with the Advanced Materials and Processing Branch (AMPB) as a Materials Research Engineer at NASA Langley Research Center.  He earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering in three and half years in December 2012, a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering in May 2014 at NC State University.  He was awarded the Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering in December, 2017 at NC State University. 

Dr. Hudson currently serves as Chair of the Hampton Roads Section (HRS) of AIAA.  He has previously served as Vice-Chair (2018-2019) and Treasurer (2017-2018).  He was the Vice-Chair of the National Institute of Aerospace (NIA) Student Chapter of AIAA (2015-2017).  He volunteers at many of AIAA HRS STEM/K-12 and Young Professionals outreach events.

The Award, instituted in 1998 by the Peninsula Engineers Council (PEC), is given in recognition of an individual’s contribution to the profession for significant technical accomplishments and community involvement.  The Award is intended to acknowledge the individual in the early phases of his/her career and will be presented at the PEC Annual Awards Banquet during National Engineer’s Week in 2020.
