Drs. Ashok Gopalarathnam & Matthew Bryant recently received a US Air Force award with the Office of Scientific
Research (AFOSR) totaling $548,836. The awarded project “Aerodynamic and Aeroelastic Behavior of
Wings in the Presence of Upstream Vortical and Viscous Disturbances” will study the effects of upstream
vertical and viscous flow disturbances on the unsteady aerodynamics of airfoils undergoing prescribed
motions and on the aeroelastic characteristics of flexible airfoils.
