Three MAE Alumni were recently appointed to leadership positions in ASHRAE’s Triangle chapter. All three MAE alumni also work at Dewberry‘s Raleigh location.
ASHRAE is a global society that advances human well-being through sustainable technology for the built environment. The society and its members focus on building systems, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, refrigeration, and sustainability. The Triangle chapter has approximately 450 members and will celebrate 50 years of existence in 2018. This chapter is part of ASHRAE’s Region IV, which consists of seven chapters, including the chapter associated with ASHRAE’s headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
For the third year in a row, the Triangle chapter won the Rudy Ferguson Award for the most outstanding chapter in the region at the Chapter Regional Conference (CRC) in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Jeffrey Cline, LEED AP BD+C, has been appointed the young engineers in ASHRAE (YEA) chair and currently works as a staff engineer with more than a decade of experience. He graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University (2004).
New Student Activities Chairperson Natalie MacDonald recently earned a degree in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University (2017) and is a graduate engineer at Dewberry.
With seven years’ experience, Weston Hockaday, PE, has been elected to secretary and works as the assistant department manager for Raleigh’s mechanical healthcare engineering group. Hockaday also earned a degree in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University (2009) and is a professional engineer in North Carolina.
