About the Talk:
Dr. Corson has developed this talk over his 25+ years of experience hiring students with Progress Energy. It includes information about setting priorities, taking advantage of the resources available to you,  how to prepare a resume, as well as tips for interviewing and networking. The talk should be insightful for students searching for internships, co-ops, and full-time positions.
About Dr. Corson:
Dr. Corson received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He worked as an assistant professor at the University of Connecticut before moving to North Carolina where he became a principal engineer with Progress Energy. While working at Progress Energy, Dr. Corson became an adjunct associate professor at NCSU where he has taught engineering courses related to thermal sciences including, but not limited to: Thermodynamics, Design of Thermal Systems, Convective Heat Transfer, Internal Combustion Engines, Steam and Gas Turbines, Advanced Power Plants, and Advanced Energy Systems. Dr. Corson is currently teaching MAE 412: Design of Thermal Systems and MAE 407: Steam and Gas Turbines.
