MAE Undergraduate Workspace

The MAE Undergraduate Workspace, located in EB3 1208, is a space intended for undergraduate student groups to come together to meet, brainstorm and present their ideas.

The room comes equipped with:

  • Formlab SLA 3D Printer
  • Ultimaker FDM 3D Printer
  • 4 computers with a variety of software programs
  • 2 worktables
  • 65 inch touchscreen monitor
  • and more!

Spaces in this room can be reserved through MAE’s Front Office Administrator, Brandon Jones (bmjones6@ncsu.edu).

Undergraduate Group Workspace (1208) Rules

  1.  All reservations must clarify the intended purpose of the reservation. The UGW is a space meant for groups to meet, brainstorm, or present their ideas. Outside of 3D printing, the space is not meant for fabrication. If you have any fabrication inquiries, please let the front desk receptionist know. 
  2.  Training on the 3D printers must be completed before they can be utilized. 
    1. All 3D printing questions and training inquiries should be directed to Mechanical Senior Design Shop Manager, Amos Tucker (abtucker@ncsu.edu)
  3.  No food or drinks are allowed. 
  4.  Must have 5+ people participating.
  5. Reservations may not be made more than 2 weeks prior to the actual reservation. May not last more than 2-hours. Extensions of reservations can be made in the last 30-minutes of the pre-arranged reservations.
  6. If reserving the space after 5 p.m., the 1208 UGW after-hours card is required. Sign out the card in the main office and return it within 24 hours.

  1. Seats 6-8 individuals, has a white board and a TV with HDMI Connection
  2. Seats 10-15 individuals and has a large TV with HDMI Connection
  3. Seats 6-8 individuals, has a white board and a TV with HDMI Connection
  4. Seats 4-6 individuals around a small round table
  5. Seats 4-6 individuals around a small round table
