Prospective Students

Thank you for your interest in my research. Below are instructions for prospective students who are interested in becoming part of the group.

Current/Accepted Graduate Students:

Please send me the following information via email:

1) A two paragraph statement of interest, detailing why you are interested in my research and what particular research problem you would be interested in pursuing as a member of the group.

2) Your CV, with undergraduate GPA and GRE scores.

For reference, I typically look for at least a 3.5 undergraduate GPA, 155 verbal GRE score, 160 math GRE score, and 4.0 writing GRE score, in addition to strong/well-substantiated research interests and good communication skills. These are not hard cutoffs, but if you are well off the mark on every numerical score, I am much less likely to invite you to interview for a spot in the group.

Prospective Graduate Students:

Please mention that you are interested in my research when you write your personal statement.

Current Undergraduate Students:

Please send me an email with a two paragraph statement of interest, detailing why you are interested in my research and what particular research problem you would be interested in pursuing as a member of the group. There are lots of opportunities for undergraduates to take part in summer research. Some undergraduate researchers come for the summer and stay for grad school!
