Morgan Funderburk receives NDSEG Fellowship

Morgan Funderburk, a second year PhD graduate student working for Dr. Venkat Narayanaswamy, has received the National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship for 2017. It covers full tuition/fees and a monthly stipend for up to 48 months. The NDSEG Fellowship is sponsored by the Army Research Office, the Office of Naval Research, the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, and the High Performance Computing Modernization Program. Fellows are selected by these four sponsoring organizations. Morgan works in the Turbulent Shear Flow Lab, where he studies the fundamental physics behind shock-wave boundary layer interactions (SBLI) experimentally. His focus is on the evolution of the SBLI units that cause unstart in rectangular and axisymmetric scramjet inlets.
