Students from across the state are invited to present their research findings at the North Carolina Space Symposium: Explore Earth and Beyond, to be held in Raleigh on March 22, 2024 by North Carolina Space Grant.
Students must submit their research abstracts by the deadline January 26, 2024, to present a poster.
The day-long symposium brings together students, academics, NASA representatives, industry professionals, and many others working in space and NASA-related fields. This year’s speakers will bring their expertise on exploring Earth and beyond using open-source science.
The event also celebrates student research from across North Carolina. In addition to speaker presentations, two student poster presentation sessions and several student lightning talks will be held. To end the day, students will be invited to participate in an “open-source science” workshop hosted by NASA professionals. NC Space Grant will release more information about this opportunity.
“We’re excited to offer students from all disciplines a chance to discover open science and how it can be used to enhance and broaden access to their research,” said Jobi Cook, associate director of NC Space Grant.
NC Space Grant-funded fellows, scholars and interns are required to submit an abstract for presentation and receive priority presentation placement. NC Space Grant also invites other higher education students who are conducting NASA-related research to submit an abstract for presentation.
