Most Distant Explosion Detected, Smashes Previous Record

A NASA press conference announcing the discovery of the most distant Gamma Ray Burst ever seen. Two UNC-Chapel Hill undergraduates supported by NC Space Grant were key participants in making this discovery and will co-author the soon-to-be-published scientific paper. Full article.

NC Space Grant Consortium Community College Scholarship

The NC Space Grant Consortium Community College Scholarship applications are now availabe. These scholarships are awarded competitively to community college students in NC who will be transferring to one of the eight Space Grant Universities. Application deadline has been extend to August 31.
