Synergistic
Activities
The focus of
my research and interests has been in artificial intelligence, information
retrieval, database applications, and systems design for decision
support. For the past three years my work has moved to include visualization
and modeling. I have mentored and advised numerous underrepresented
minorities and women in computer science. I have served on the Advisory
Board for STEM education (North Carolina Mathematics and Science
Education Network-NCMSEN) and developed and offered a Saturday and
Summer Program in Problem Based Mathematics and Science for middle
grades underrepresented minorities under the NSF CPMSA Grant.
