Synergistic Activities

The focus of my research and interests has been in artificial intelligence, information retrieval, database applications, and systems design for decision support. For the past three years my work has moved to include visualization and modeling. I have mentored and advised numerous underrepresented minorities and women in computer science. I have served on the Advisory Board for STEM education (North Carolina Mathematics and Science Education Network-NCMSEN) and developed and offered a Saturday and Summer Program in Problem Based Mathematics and Science for middle grades underrepresented minorities under the NSF CPMSA Grant.
