NCSGC Outreach Program
2005-2006

The North Carolina Space Grant Consortium invites proposals for grants to support new projects or programs, or to enhance existing programs, which have the following goals: 1) to raise the level of the general public's knowledge of and potential benefits of: space, aerospace, and space-related science, design, or technology; 2) to increase interest, recruitment, and training of the next generation of pre-college students in the pursuit of space-related science, design or technology; 3) to support K-12 development of: space science, aerospace, aeronautics, astronautics, and related fields; 4) to encourage K-12 students in space-related pursuits. Applicants may request funding up to $2,000* the maximum award per project. All award recipients must submit a final report and will be expected to participate in the annual NC Space Grant Conference.

Eligibility

All NC Space Grant member universities are eligible to participate. Proposals that involve industry, a K-12 or non-profit organization are encouraged.


Submission Requirements

Proposals can now be submitted online through the online application process (see link below). Proposals must be submitted by a faculty member.* The proposed activities should be conducted by faculty and/or students. The proposal should be no more than 1500 words and include the following items:

  • Title of Program/Project

  • Purpose - include audience and educational objectives.

  • Method - What activity(s) will be included.

  • Results - Anticipated value-added benefits, including a brief evaluation plan and how the program will be continued after NC Space Grant funds are no longer available.

  • Budget - Include a detailed budget for the Space Grant and Cost-Match funds. Note that funds received from the NC Space Grant Consortium can not be used for the purchase of equipment.
    (Note: Student support taxable income).

  • Cost-Match - A one to one match is required.

  • Personnel - Include brief qualifications of key personnel.

  • Schedule - A time line should be included that details the project period and milestones/deadlines.

  • Institution's fiscal officer, project director, mailing address, telephone and fax number, and e-mail address.
