NCSGC Graduate Fellowship

Fellowship Description

Up to three participants from each member university of the North Carolina Space Grant Consortium will be selected to compete for fellowships, based on the quality of the proposal (50%), the relevance to space (25%), and the academic achievement of the candidate (25%). The fellowship recipients will carry out research work during the Summer of 2005 (award up to $5,000*), under general supervision of their advisors. (Note: Taxable Income)

Previous recipients: 2005-2006 - 2004-05 - 2003-04 - 2002-03 - 2000-01 - 1998-99

Eligibility Requirements

• Applicants must be classified as full-time graduate students or B.S. graduates accepted for graduate school for Fall 2005 and pursuing degrees in engineering or science disciplines of interest to NASA at one of the eight member universities during the award period.
  
  
• Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 grade scale) or greater.
  
  
• Applicants must be United States citizens or permanent residents.
  
  
• Research projects should be space or aeronautics related or have a space or aeronautics application. Projects must be conducted under a faculty advisor's supervision at the student's university.
  
  
• Applicants are only eligible to receive the same award twice.

The entire application process can be completed online and consists of the following:

• Narrative written by the student of up to 1000 words describing the proposed research project
  
  
• Student's resumé including goals and research experience
  
  
• Student's university transcript
  
  
• Faculty advisor's short vita
