GSA Successes and Poster Competition

The MAE Graduate Student Association (GSA) has had a successful year, full of accomplishments. Led by President James Pearson, below are some of this year's achievements:

• participated in the ECE fall seminar event for the first time, and won over half the prizes!
• held the first ever GSA new student seminars.
• held the poster competition and softball game - both were great successes
• in line to receive funding from the UGSA
• stayed within budget
• placed one of our very own, Mitesh Ghelani, on the UGSA executive board for next semester
• applied for and received first ever $250 block grant with the BME GSA

To cap the year, the GSA hosted the 2008 MAE Graduate Student Poster Competition, which was held on April 24th. According to Dr. Robert Nagel, Director of Graduate Programs, the research presented was excellent and the judging was exceedingly close. Congratulations to all the participants.
