Hite Receives Outstanding Senior Award in Leadership

The Engineers' Council Annual Awards Banquet was held April 16 th at the University Club. Korey Hite, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, was co-recipient of the Outstanding Senior Award in Leadership, along with Zachary Adams.
Korey is a natural leader. He was honored with the CSLEPS Visionary Leadership Certificate, is a National Merit Commended Student and an Eagle Scout, and has made the Dean's List for four years. He participates in the University Honors Program, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and Pi Tau Sigma Honor Society. He is a Park Scholar, and was awarded the Progress Energy Scholarship, Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship, the Rotary Scholarship, and several other honors.
Korey has participated in three internships, including positions at John Deere, Honeywell and Progress Energy. He has served as the president of NC State's campus chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and is currently the Corporate Relations Chair. He was also the president of Light Savers, a student energy conservation and awareness group, and served in leadership roles in Students for Sustainable Energy, Pi Tau Sigma and in senior design courses.
Korey has graduated from Leadershape, completed 10 leadership workshops through CSLEPS, attended the Park Leadership Academy, and has logged more than 200 service hours.
