MAE MS Student Wins Martin Summerfield Propellants and Combustion Graduate Award

Audrey Turley (MSME Candidate) was awarded the Martin Summerfield Propellants and Combustion Graduate Award from the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) at the AIAA/SAE/ASME/ASEE Joint Propulsion Conference in Sacramento , CA. The conference took place from July 9 to 12, 2006 . The award presentation was made at the Awards Presentations Ceremony, and the award package included Audrey's trip to Sacramento for the conference.

Audrey is conducting research for her M.S. thesis at the Environmental Protection Agency. Her research involves comparing the effects of metallic fuel borne catalysts on the physical, chemical, and toxicological effects of the emitted particulate matter. Her thesis advisor is Professor William Roberts.
Audrey earned her B.S. degree at Texas A&M University in Mathematics. She taught high school math for two years before coming to NC State University to pursue her M.S. degree.
