Wireless Sensor Networks Workshop

The MAE Department at NC State University hosted a Wireless Sensor Networks Workshop on June 7, 2005. The workshop took place from 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM in Research Building II on Centennial Campus. Guests included faculty and students from NCSU, Temple University , and Virginia Tech. Representatives from ARO, Boeing, and Goodrich were also in attendance. Topics presented included the following:

  • Wireless Sensor Networks Applications for the 21 st Century
  • Power Scavenging and Power Storage Using Smart Material
  • Strain Sensing using the MICA2 Wireless Platform
  • Development of Wireless Intelligent Sensor Platform (WISP)
  • New Directions of Optical Sensors for Smart Structures
  • Future Prospective: All-Wireless Sensor Networks Architecture
  • Real Time Damage Identification Algorithms for SHMS Using EM Waves
