January 10, 2004
As one of the outcomes of the research funded by NIA during 2003 (FY-03, Year 1), Dr. Ashok Gopalarathnam and his Ph.D. student Jeffrey K. Jepson published the following paper at the Reno AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting in January 2004: Jepson, J. K. and Gopalarathnam, A., "Inverse Design of Adaptive Airfoils with Aircraft Performance Considerations,"AIAA 2004-0028, presented at the 42nd AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting, Reno, NV, 5-8 January, 2004. NIA support is acknowledged in the paper.
This paper was selected as one of the best applied aerodynamics papers at the Reno conference and they have been invited to present this paper at the Royal Aeronautical Society Aerodynamics conference in September (14th-16th) this year in London as a part of the AIAA-CEAS paper swap agreement. Gopalarathnam would like to express his gratitude to the NIA and NASA Langley for their support of our research and look forward to continuing the collaborations.
