About the L.L. Vaughn Scholars Program

The L.L. Vaughn Scholars Program provides summer internships and financial awards to full time students in mechanical engineering who possess an interest in the technical and economical issues associated with the plumbing, heating, and cooling industry. The North Carolina Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors sponsors the program. The association wishes to invest in students who are interested in the engineering challenges that face the industry and who have the aptitude and desire to become future leaders. The L.L. Vaughn Scholars Program consists of summer internships for rising sophomores, juniors, and/or seniors in the mechanical engineering curriculum. Interns work with association members throughout North Carolina for ten weeks each summer to gain practical experience and to learn more about the plumbing, heating, and cooling industry. In addition, scholarships of $3000 per year are provided for interns who have demonstrated exceptional potential.
