Visiting Scholars

In May 2000, a group of three scientists from Kiev (Ukraine), namely, Prof. A.A. Avramenko, Dr. I.V. Shevchuk, and Dr. S.G. Kobzar visited Prof. A.V. Kuznetsov in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, North Carolina State University (USA).  The objective of the visit was to carry out research supported by the NATO Collaborative Linkage Grant PST.CLG.975600 “Hydrodynamics and Heat Transfer Affected by Instabilities of Different Nature”.  The aim of the joint project was to study heat transfer and fluid flow in boundary layers in the presence of longitudinal vortexes.  Theoretical approaches utilized for this research included the theory of Lie groups, perturbation technique, numerical modeling, etc.  The project resulted in submitting 4 papers to international journals.
