POLICIES
Homework
Guidelines
- Use only 8.5in by 11in. engineering paper for all assignments.
This is a policy of the MAE department. Assignments not turned in on
the correct paper will receive a severly reduced score.
- Write on one side of the paper only.
- Put your name and page number at the top of each page. Staple your
work in the upper left hand corner to the back of the assignment sheet(s).
- Each problem should be numbered clearly. Your writing must be neat
and legible. Sketches should be neat. Use straight edge or template
if necessary.
- Solutions should proceed step-by-step. Don't skip critical steps.
Partial credit will be given.
- Box in your final answer.
- Always show proper units if appropriate and include three significant
digits.
- Homework must be turned in on or before the date shown on the website
assignments page. No late homework will be accepted. There can no
exceptions to this policy. It is strongly suggested that you retain
a copy of your homework. At exam times it is very likely you will not
have your most recently turned in homework back, so it will be helpful
to have your original work and the solution to refer to.
- Partial grading will be employed on all homework assignments. Two
problems will be selected randomly from each assignment. Therefore
it is essential that you complete all the problems on each assignment.
Complete solutions will be available for self-grading.
