Homework Guidelines

  1. Use only 8.5in by 11in. engineering paper for all assignments.This is MAE department policy. Assignements received on incorrect paper will receive a severe penalty
  2. Write on one side of the paper only.
  3. Put your name, page number, and date assignment is due at the top of each page. Assignment sheet should be the cover page. Staple your work in the upper left hand corner.
  4. Each problem should be numbered clearly. Your writing must be neat and legible. Sketches should be neat. Use straight edge or template if necessary.
  5. Solutions should proceed step-by-step. Don't skip critical steps. Partial credit will be given.
  6. Box in your final answer.
  7. Always show proper units and include three significant digits.
  8. Homework is due at the beginning of class on the due date. No homework will be accepted in my office. No late homework will be accepted.
  9. It is possible that only partial grading will occur on homework assignments. Problems for grading will be selected at random. Complete solutions will be available for self-grading.

Additional Information

  1. +/- grading may be used for your final grade.
  2. I encourage you to work together on homework, but to hand in work that is original and reflects your own thoughts and that is not merely a copy of someone else's work.
